Haas(FullTime MBA) 2017Class-Calling all Waitlisted students

Waiting until after Welcome Weekend. What about you? Going to put down a deposit for Duke, McCombs, or UVA?

Well, since Haas decided to kick the can down the road I am compelled to part ways with $2K in order to secure a spot at Fuqua.

Has anyone submitted their updated materials yet?

Went to a campus visit at Haas this week and met with a Admission Advisor during the visit. Wanted to summarize what he said:

-Round 2 applications have been overwhelming this year. This probably means that Haas wouldn't start looking at waitlist candidates till after 3/1. If you looked at the posts from last year Haas didn't get to review the waitlist pool till pretty late. This is probably going to be the case this year.

-If you were waitlisted then you probably had something wrong in your application. Haas is trying to see if you can figure out what that weakness is and if you will address it in your update letter. (Kinda feel like a guessing game).

-Haas drops off waitlist candidates who are furthest from San Francisco first and slowly make its way in. This means if you are a CA resident you probably wouldn't get dropped off until August. Unless you get off the waitlist of course.

-It is very much a waiting game. So keep them updated............once a month.

Once a month? is that not too often?

Planning to visit campus mid-April if I don't get released on Thursday. Any word on anyone being accepted off of the waitlist?

No updates here. Mid April should be fine.

fhfuentes released being a more gentle way of saying dinged from the waitlist. I thought maybe after comparing WL candidates to the R2s they might let some WaitListers go on Thursday.

Ah ok. I was not aware they release candidates off the wait list, I just thought we run the risk of staying there forever. I am doing a visit April 6 and am R2 wait list candidate.

Wait you applied in R2 and already heard back about being WL? When did you hear that? Did you have an interview?

Has anyone on the waitlist from R1 heard? Are we expected to hear about acceptance, releases today?

Joining the club - what are the %s of waitlist admisssion? Seems like lots get waitlisted, so I'm assuming fairly low

(On that point - do people who get interviewed get rejected? It seems most get waitlisted)

i was not able to make the waitlist chat today--is there a transcript out there? If not, can somebody please provide some highlights?

I was on the chat. There ~70 people on the chat. Seems like a lot of ppl on the waitlist...

Indian applicant. R2. waitlisted after interview. Still very unclear about
1. the update letter - what exactly should it cover. Mix of professional and personal updates?
2. it is frustrating to not have any actual names of quant courses you can do. I am concnerned i will do something that is not recognized. Any suggestions?
