Well, congratulation for the good score.
Now, you can think of universities that best fulfill your dream place.
I wish I could also have your score.
I've been trying very hard for the last two years but haven't been able to get my best quant and verbal abilities in one exam.
Reading success stories such these helps me to push forward.
I hope you get to the program you want.

Hi gannuswami

Congrats on getting the GMAT out of the way!
All the best for the application phase.

To begin with if you are targeting one year programs in India and Canada,
the 710 is enough. But, I think for the top programs in US, it might be a little low.

Q48 is a decent score but if you are certain you can push for a Q50 while maintaining
the Verbal score, you could work on getting a higher score on the GMAT as it will help
you improve your chances and present a stronger profile for the top programs in US.

The only reason I am telling you this is being an Indian/IT/Male candidate, it makes
sense to have a 730+ score. Alternatively, you could put a profile evaluation request
in the admission consultant forum.

Hope that helps you

Thanks for your advice Pushpitkc, I am planning to write GMAT again. However, first I will focus on my applications as R2 deadlines are approaching for some of the schools. I wanted to apply in these schools and hence rushed for my GMAT. After this deadline, I will continue of my applications and start preparing for GMAT in parallel.

Thanks,

Congratulations and best of luck for your next GMAT. You should focus on Verbal more as it carries more weightage.

Thanks,

In my opinion, gmatprep exams are quite accurate predictor of your probable GMAT score. They are very close to the actual exam and are relevant. It doesn't matter much if you have seen 1-2 questions before. However, if you have seen 4-5 questions before, your score will be inflated one.

How many mistakes have you made in quant and verbal sections?

I am not sure about the actual GMAT, but during practice exams no. of mistakes varied from 3 to 12 in Quant when I scored 50 and 10 to 13 in verbal when I scored 38, total 720.
