- I have 760 GMAT 4.5 AWA
- GPA- 3.77 from NYU Stern undergad with similar major GPAs
- ran 2 clubs in college
- did honors thesis with a prof who did his PHd at harvard
- took 2 MBA graduate course (one with nobel prize winner)
- Majored in Econ and management w/ math minor
- involved with various extracurricular activities at work/ college

You have some strong things going for you. If you lack leadership responsibilities in your current position then your two years may not be enough, especially at HBS. HBS is all about leadership, in your career and outside of it. Two years' work experience is usually at the lower edge of the middle 80% of entering students at most business schools. But as you know HBS is skewing a bit younger these days. Unfortunately for you, Wharton's average age is 28, meaning it leans a bit to higher end in terms of work experience. So both schools may be tough for you.
My guess is that HBS places less value on the essays than does other schools (Stanford, for example), but this won't help you very much, because if you think this means you can give HBS anything less than stellar essays you'll be inviting a Ding.
