Hi gaurav0792,
Thank you very much for your post, and congratulations on the great GMAT score!
While M7 programs are extremely competitive, I actually think that a proper, balanced school strategy for you should include some higher-ranked programs (including certain M7s). You have a great GMAT score, interesting international experience (working as an Indian national for a Japanese company in the United States), and what seems to be a very specific focus within your industry, which is more unique than the all-too-typical "I want to transition from engineering to consulting."
That said, I like your instincts toward balance and diversification. Near the M7, you might consider Berkeley-Haas (especially with an eye toward the "automotive startup" element of your comment... Haas has sent recent grads into those very startups), Ross, and Fuqua. Moving along, you might also look further into Johnson, Tepper, and McCombs (note that these are all still top 20 in the U.S.). Outside of the top 20, Indiana (Kelley), Purdue (Krannert), Georgia Tech (Scheller), Michigan State (Broad), Ohio State (Fisher), and Penn State (Smeal) are considerations, depending on how deep into the rankings you want to look.
As I read your profile, I see a "technology" pole and an "auto / manufacturing" pole. So keep that in mind as you continue to consider schools and and your career story. With respect to the rest of your profile, it seems that almost all of your "extracurricular" involvement came during college. So I'd worry a little bit about your story "outside of the office."
Please let me know if you'd like to chat. I've worked with a number of applicants who have engineering / manufacturing backgrounds. One in particular comes to mind as he was a mechanical engineer from India, did his master's in North America, and worked thereafter in North America. Every applicant is different -- and past results offer little insight into the future -- but this particular individual received three M7 invites and landed at Kellogg (with a lower GMAT score than you).
