We know that the same amount that can buy 2/3 of bread X can buy 5/4 of bread Y.
X:Y = 2/3 : 5/4 = 8:15

We are to determine what quantity of bread Y can be bought by an amount of money used to buy 3/2 of bread X.
X:Y = 8:15
Therefore if X=3/2, corresponding Y=3/2 * 15/8 = 45/16 = 2 + 13/16

The answer is Option C.

1. A bakery bakes two kinds of bread, X and Y.
2. With the same amount of money, you can afford either 2/3 pounds of bread X or 1 1/4 of bread Y.

Asked: How many pounds can I afford of bread Y, with the same amount I can buy 1 1/2 of X?

M = 2/3 x = 5/4 y
x = 5/4 * 3/2 y = 15y/8
3/2x = 3/2 * 15y/8 = 45y/16 = 2 13/16 y

x = 5y/4*3/2 = 15y/8
3x/2 = 15y/8 * 3/2 =45/16=2 13/16

With the same amount of money, we'll get
2/3 X = 5/4 Y
So, X = 15/8 Y

Finding 1 1/2 or 3/2 X

3/2 X = 15/8 Y * 3/2 = 45/16 Y
= 2 13/16 Y

Cost price/ amount of money = Qty which can be afforded
for item X ; cost price/qty of x = amount
item Y ; cost price/qty of y = amount
given amount is same
CP X* 3/2 = CP Y* 4/5
CP Y = CP X *15/8

now given
CP X *2/3 = CP Y / Qty of Y
CP X *2/3 = CP X *15/8 / qty Y
qty Y = 45/16
IMO C; 2 13/16 or say 45/16

--> \((\frac{2}{3})*X\)
--> \((\frac{5}{4})*X\)
----------------------
How many pounds can I afford of bread Y, with the same amount I can buy \(\frac{3}{2}\) of X?

\((\frac{2}{3})X--> (\frac{5}{4})Y\)
\((\frac{3}{2})X--> Pounds\)

--> Pounds=\((\frac{3}{2})X *(\frac{5}{4})Y) / (\frac{2}{3})X\)=\((\frac{45}{16})Y\)

The answer C matches the solution.

The answer is C.
