Hi there, it would be great if I could get some comments on the suitability of my profile for admission to my target schools.

· Demographics: Female, Indian, 26

· Education: BSc. Economics, Singapore Management University, GPA 3.4 (Cum Laude)

· Other coursework or post-undergraduate education: Study Abroad Semester at Vienna University of Economics & Business

· GMAT: Total 720 (QR 50, VR 37, IR 6)

· Work experience:
I've had 2 internships in university, one with an insurance firm and another with an emerging markets consulting firm, both in Singapore.
I'll be completing 4 years of full-time work in Aug 2021. Been working with a leading Shipping and Logistics Solutions MNC in Singapore. Started as a graduate trainee for 1 yr, placed as a digital business analyst – COO office for 2 yrs, and then promoted to organisation excellence manager for Asia Pacific. In these roles, I've worked on high-impact digital transformation projects in close collaboration with the CEO, COO, product managers and ops teams across Southeast Asia, China and Australia.

My role involves project management, data analytics, vendor management and operational process alignment. Some key achievements are launching an online booking/quote customer platform in 10 Asia markets, and delivering bottom-line savings in high-cost countries through ops automation and restructuring.

· Extracurricular activities:
In university, I held several positions in executive committees as a sponsorship lead/ events director. Served over 1000 students as part of the Student Council and also led several events to integrate and showcase the international student community. In addition, I volunteered with Singapore’s Down Syndrome Association on an ongoing basis to coach kids and adults on occupational and life skills.
Presently, I am volunteering my time with a Singaporean female-led tech community as a tech associate, where I curate learning/mentorship programs for a community of self-learners who wish to upskill in Data Visualization/ Analytics. I design a curriculum suite for individual learners as well as public and private partners. The goal of this community is to advance diversity and inclusion of women in various tech roles.

· Post-MBA goals:
Strategy/ project management roles in tech companies

· Target schools:
Columbia, MIT Sloan, Kellogg, UCB Haas, Booth, Tuck, INSEAD

I'll be applying in R1 for 2022 intake.

Hi studybuddy26
- You have demonstrated pretty good career progression over the last 4 years. Paired with your undergrad performance and GMAT, this should make for a strong platform to aspire to your target schools from.
- Your GMAT, though decent at 720, could benefit from a slight increase. This is not to say at all that you cannot get into your target programs with this score, but that a 20-30 point increase would further enhance your chances.
- Your work so far seems more focused on technology and analytics enabled operations optimization. That makes you a good fit with post-MBA roles in consulting. Not sure if strategy or project management is going to be a great fit for most MBA programs, as most tech companies will not recruit in these roles at that level (at least the large ones). Project Management roles are more organic than filled by MBA hires.
- At this point, you should get an early start on your applications and start conducting school and application research. If possible, try and work further on GMAT as well. Think through on your goals further as well.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to come back with more questions as needed or to contact us directly at our email in our signature below for a 1-1 discussion.

Hi harish555

With 10+ years of experience, you are at the cusp of being considered too experienced for full-time MBA programs. A 650 may not be very competitive at Austin and Kelley, and will only be moderately competitive at Smeal and Scheller. Please try and enhance your score to 700+. Also, you may be a better fit for financial services than for consulting.
