Hello revati16

I'd recommend 720+ to have strong chances considering your Computer Science background.
Past scores are strong and this will also show some consistency.
Career goals are organic, the entire challenge is to present the work experience and extracurricular in order to stand out from the competition.

Work ex and extracurricular are the highlights of your profile.
GRE, though slightly lower than the average of the class, should not be a deal breaker in your case.
Would be interesting to know your career goals as this would be key in assessing the fir with the school (and there by strength of your application)

Hey
MBAkarma,

Thanks for your assessment :)
I am applying with my GRE score which is 320.
It is a little below average and that concerns me a little. Any Alumni i have talked to says that i should go ahead as other aspects of my application will make up for it.

Any views?

Hello raipriyadarshi

What is your exact GMAT score (I'm assuming this is close to 630-650).
In that case, the score is quite low to be considered safe.
Work ex and extracurricular seem to show potential, but details of career goals will be crucial to assess the strength of your narrative.

This needs bit of an introspection and brainstorming. After all these years in an operations profile in a gas distribution company, switching to a tech company might not be a smooth landing.

Applied in R1, Is there a realistic chance to get into ISB?
Also, should I write to the admission committee or make an ex ISB alum write to the admission committee recommending me?

Thanks in advance

Hi sbhutta,

Your work experience is rich and extra curricular are much above average.
As far as your GMAT score is concerned, its about 50 points lower than average. To compensate that, you require exceptional application and interview. Without reading your essays, it will be difficult to understand your chances. Since you have already applied, don't overthink on your chances now and prepare for the interview. If you will wait for shortlist to start interview preparation, it will be too late by then.

To answer your query regarding writing to admissions committee or making an ISB alum refer, do whatever is in your capacity. Although the chances of these things affecting your chances are slim, but still whats the harm trying?

If you require an assessment of your essays, we would be happy to help.

Hope it helped.
