Hi, I just graduated at the age of 20 and I’m planning on giving GMAT, but I just attended the ELEVATE YOUR MBA APPLICATION by GMAT club, and she told me to first dedicate 2 years on building experiences and then apply for MBA colleges. So is it really needed for me to acquire experience for applying to harvard, considering I’m 20?? Guys please consider helping me out. Thanks

Hey, Ratanp

It is generally recommended to gain 2–5 years of work experience before applying to top MBA programs like Harvard. At age 20, you would be applying to MBA programs very early in your career, gaining some meaningful work experience first, then applying to MBA programs when you have more to offer. This will make you a stronger, more competitive applicant.

I hope that helped :D

It is definitely recommend to gain atleast 2-3 yrs of work experience before you apply to top global MBA programs. Your work experience is a critical component of your MBA application so make sure to build a strong professional profile in the next few years. The details below are not for HBS but for sister program, Kennedy School of Public Policy.

Harvard Kennedy School (MPP and MPA degrees) have just made GMAT/GRE Optional 😲

This is usually an indicator that the applicant volume is not great

Does, this year, HBS require you to send official scores or self-reported is fine?

Almost 2 years until I finish my bba, I have 2.2 years of experience in a startup that didn’t end so we’ll. Moving forward can you guys give me any suggestions on how much more experience and what type I should get for HBS? I’m trying to do another startup soon
