My answer is (D). It took me 23 seconds.

(B) No reason to introduce discordance between plural "right-brained individuals" and singular "a left-brained individual".
(C) "as left-brained individuals" can be interpreted to mean "right-brained individuals do not employ convergent thinking processes in the capacity of left-brained individuals".
(D) "as left-brained individuals do" won't be misinterpreted.
(E) For one, singular "a left-brained individual" is not in harmony with plural “right-brained individuals". For another, "can" is not parallel with "do (not)".

I too came up with D but want to understand/confirm that the 'they' refers to right-brained individuals and not the left-brained individuals in this case.
