Wow, thanks for making me feel inferior  . I think you are the first person that I have seen receive the official "Paul Bodine thinks you should apply to Harvard" seal of approval.

No, I think you're quite realistic, which is a benefit to those of us on the forum. It lets us know if our targets are reasonable.

You have a remarkable profile and I think your odds are good at all the schools you mentioned. As for explaining the MSc, just tell them why the degree became less relevant to you. There's no harm in changing course when you decide something is not right for you, but tell that what was wrong, what caused the change in your perception. This is hardly a deal-breaker. Given your goals you seem to need a good general management program. Have you heard of Harvard? :) You might as well give HBS a shot IMO. Maybe also consider Michigan, Tuck, and Virginia. You can aim high.

Good luck,

Hello, Paul,

I have the same situation - started MSc in International Economics, but left it without presenting final thesis, because workload increased sufficiently and had to spend long hours in the office, besides, my main idea to the end of third year became to make a practical work, and to do it I had to spend all days, interviewing companies, government statistics is not reliable.
Do I have to show MSc when I fill in the application forms?

R.E.D.,

Yes, you have to show that coursework in the data section of your app, but of course you can't say you earned the master's if you did not.

Good luck,

Paul,

Thanks a lot for reply, my first idea was to do so, but I was a little bit in doubt whether the data section includes only completed degrees or any degrees taken.

Better to err on the side of too much information than too little. Adcoms want to all time accounted for, no strange gaps, etc. because gaps and missing info make them think dark thoughts ...
