Ha ha ...similar situation...received an email from them asking to confirm my birthdate as the GMAT score report had a diff date (So much for $250)..I confirmed and got confirmation that the file is now ready for review.
so...HOPE is ON

helg, this should be on an island near Japan. This could be a nice trip to some electronics factory after the interview :)

Well in that case I should also receive the email soon. I did not specifically request a waiver. So in a way its good because that means that they did not review my app yet :D

I just got back from Ann Arbor. The interview was pretty standard. Why MBA? Why Ross? Tell me about yourself. How will you contribute to Ross? What will you specialize in? What is your most significant achievement?
The interviewer was a second year student. Really nice and outgoing. I felt like chatting with him. Spoke to me about Brazil, his home country.
After the interview he was kind enough to take me to the Tauber Institute office where I sat down with a staff member to go over the program. All in all nothing eventful. I can't really say how I did.

Oh Forgot! Good Luck Nervous. I am sure you'll do just fine. Also, I can't say how I did because I wasn't able to read the interviewer. He smiled a couple of times, but didn't really give me any reaction.

Clobo,

Thanks for your tips and good luck wishes. I'm sure you did fine.

I wonder about the significance of the interview at Ross. I know that some schools like Yale place a lot of importance on the interview while others view it more like a hygene factor: unless you truly stink, the interview is just like a stamp necessary to complete your application.

Do you have any perspective on Ross' view of the interviewing process?

Nervous, now that you put it that way, it did seem like the interview was just a get to know you session. This is my first MBA interview so I don't really have anything to compare this experience to. Let us know how your interview goes. We can discuss the significance after. Good luck again.

I just got finished with an over-the phone interview with a 2nd-year student at Ross.
Will provide details later about the questions but be prepared to be grilled about why Ross is THE school for you... :)

Hey Nervous,
My interviewer didn't spend too much time on the why Ross. He seemed pretty satisfied when I told him that I applied because of the Manufacturing focus through the Tauber overlay. He then proceeded to ask me what I did to learn more about Tauber and that was it. I guess they grill you more if your goals aren't manufacturing/operations related. How did it go??
