I have not officially decided to apply but one of my fellow managers went to Michigan and has almost convinced me to apply. From everything I have read they have pretty decent placement in IB. Not sure how good they are for real estate IB though. 710 GMAT 3.6 GPA blah, blah, blah...we are all great in our own ways. Hey Nervous,
My interviewer didn't spend too much time on the why Ross. He seemed pretty satisfied when I told him that I applied because of the Manufacturing focus through the Tauber overlay. He then proceeded to ask me what I did to learn more about Tauber and that was it. I guess they grill you more if your goals aren't manufacturing/operations related. How did it go??

Well, my goals are not that specific, and I think that's why my interviewer kept on asking me why Ross questions. I am really looking to develop "soft" leadership and management skills, exposure to various functions outside of Finance. That is my reason for the MBA. Now, these skills can be obtained in a lot of top programs, so he was pushing to see why i am looking at Ross as opposed to any other program.
I am not sure if I was able to persuade him... I was also stressed out because i couldn't read him very well, and as a result forgot a lot of the things I wanted to mention, like the William Davidson Institute and Leadership Initiative... blah!

Overall, i think the interview went OK but not great. Hence, my question: how important is it to have a good interview in Ross? Is it a "hygiene" factor or a major contributing factor?

just got a mail from admissions committee asking for my TOEFL score or reason for exemption. So sent them the reason for exemption. Where did u guys put down the reason for exemption if any on the app.

Anyways on the bright side my application has not been reviewed so i still have hope.

Ha ha ...similar situation...received an email from them asking to confirm my birthdate as the GMAT score report had a diff date (So much for $250)..I confirmed and got confirmation that the file is now ready for review.
so...HOPE is ON

Nervous, Admissions411 has some information on the number of students who were interviewed and the number of students accepted. 2008 information indicates that the interview didn't matter. Pretty much everyone that got interviews seems to have been accepted. 2007 has some dings for people that didn't get interviews.

Last year, Michigan actually published their R1 stats in their student newspaper. I think it was ~850 applicants, 550 interviews and 280 admits. So roughly 30% was their acceptance rate in R1. Again I read this in an earlier post and did not personally read the article.

This morning, I got an email from Ross asking for a copy of my degree certificate. After I sent it, they replied with the confirmation that my application is complete and I am now ready for review.

What was intriguing about this was the sentence in their original email that said "please send this information before 11/21 in order for your application to be considered". I think we can expect some invites before thanks giving. Or, this could mean nothing.
