Cornell historically has one of the highest acceptance rates, and we gmatclubbers haven't had much success so far. What does that say about this year's app volume?

I'll admit, I didn't submit the most stellar essays, but I didn't even get an interview invite. And to boot, they stopped emailing a loooong time ago. Oh well, sour grapes for today. Tomorrow, I'll move on.

Yes, my essays were bad in comparison to my other essays.

I think R2 is inevitable.

Last year, GMATclub did well with Cornell.

Just recieved my call. Came in about an hour after the FedEx email. Has anyone else recieved an invitation to interview for the Park Fellowship? Any idea how many are invited to interview? I know their are only 25 Fellows in any one class.

I got the call yesterday evening and the Fedex email this morning. I also received an email from the Fin Aid office (for scholarship) & finally, an email from Ann Richards about technical difficulties. Busy day at Johnson!

Just got another mail inviting me to join new students forum.

I would say looking back.. reasons for my ding

1. essays too short to show my profile - 400 words to talk about everything... it did not help me

2. leadership experience was so.. so.. then again what sort of a leadership experience will one have if one is an auditor and always brings out the worst in people

3. no love shown for cornell.. did not do class visit, did not meet or talk to current students/alumni... i did not meet anyone in LA so.. guess could not justify my priority for cornell...

Overall, the ding did not disturb me. I was expecting it, and so was mentally prepared.....

Continuing my R2 app process this weekend..

Kidderek ... the beer invite is on... looking towards NYU

I would put your reasons in reverse order. I think a no-show to Cornell is a huge knock against your candidacy. Cornell is very conscious. They even have a date on their application status as to when you visited the school!

Also, I met someone from Stern. Very qualified, accepted to schools as high as top5, but was dinged by a few lower ranked schools. Only difference? He had not visited any of the schools he was subsequently rejected from.

Not sure if you've visited Stern yet, but I suggest you do so. You will love the school and the people.
