I don't think that is really true actually.
They interview 50% of applicants. I believe that would be overall. My guess is a slightly higher percentage of applicants get invited to interview in RD1 than RD2. Then RD3 interview invite percentage is probably super small. So really, it could be something like Rd 1- 60%, Rd 2- 50%, Rd 3- 20%. No analysis behind those numbers, just throwing random figures out.
On top of that, people here on GMATclub would probably be considerd a very strong applicant pool in terms of time and dedication spent on the process. I would guess our applicant pool here would be somewhat above the average applicant pool for GSB as a whole.
I would guess that over 60% of GMATclub Rd 1 applicants receive interview invites for Chicago. Of course I also prefer an optomistic thought process to that of doom and gloom.
