I happen to know some of these guys at DFA. Their ties with GSB are very tight and some of them serve on GSB's Board as well. These guys love GSB and this news is hardly surprising.
This sucks, I actually hate it when schools change the title of the school because of donations. It's lame. it's like buying the school. I actually lost a little respect for the school.
Just curious - what do you guys thinks this means for Chicago GSB?
Will it lead to an even stronger showing in the rankings? More scholarships?

He donates his life's work, the ink has not even dried on the endowment partnership, and you're already concerned about how you're personally going to benefit? Sorry for the buzzkill, but it needed to be said. Oh, and I applied on 10/15 and went complete 10/22. Add me to the list, please

Well... bschool is not Red Cross or WWF - it's a business. Name change is not a big price compared to improvements school can make with 300M.
Now it'll be interesting to see next moves... So far Knight with 105M was the leader. Now Booth with 300M. In 2010 I see somebody donating 500M. The question is which school will be the lucky one?

There are many Universities out there with people's names, many of them because of donations.
Anyway, there is nothing one can do, it Changed from The University of Chicago GSB to The University of Chicago BSB, or Chicago Booth, if you will.

Stanford got 105M recently. My bet is on 500M for Wharton or MIT.
