Absolutely - prime lenses are essential, especially for sleeping babies. Just get one of the cheepo 50mm 1.8. Shouldn't be more than $100, and I guarantee it will be the best $100 you've ever spent. They're actually great lenses. The reason they're so cheap is because they were the kit lens for like 50 years, so they've been mass produced, but they're still great lenses and will run circles around your zoom. AFter you get used to that, you'll know where to spend your money next (probably a wider prime...)

That is the exact lens I would recommend for someone with a D60. Good planning!

Actually so is the one that Nikon sells thats not AF-S. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like dropping mad coin on the DSLR (my last one was stolen) so I went D60, which limits a bit.
