Hi everyone,
I'm applying to grad schools for Fall 2010. I graduated from undergrad in this Spring 2009 and I'm worried that I won't get into any schools because of my low GPA. I graduated with a 2.9
I went to college straight out of high school. I gave birth to my daughter at the beginning of my senior year of high school when I was 17 years old. So during undergrad, I was a full-time, single parent as well as a full-time, full scholarship student athlete, not to mention I worked full-time from 4pm-midnight. So as you can see I was EXTREMELY busy. As a result of this, I graduated with a very low GPA. My low GPA is definitely because of a lack of effort and NOT because of a lack of brains. How would I explain that so that the schools that look at my application will know this??? Do I write an essay about it??? What do I do to convince them that I should be admitted to their school?
Also, I was on the track and field team during undergrad and I did break a couple of school records. Should I include this on my resume or in an essay or anything??? Is that important???
Anyone please feel free to comment. I am open to any suggestions/advice. Thanks for your help and any advice.
