What is Emory known for? What's its emphasis? I've seen Finance and Management. Is that right?

for emory, you dont receive an interview invite.. it is something that is mandatory for ALL applicants...

I interviewed at Emory 1 month before submitting my application

The faster you get your interview done, the faster you will receive a decision

Re: Calling all Emory applicants Fall 2010 [#permalink]
Hi all-

also wanted to share my recent interview experience at Emory.
The lady was very friendly and asked me to go through my background, both professional and personal. She especially asked me about my major accomplishments at my current employer and seemed very interested. She asked how my manager would describe me, what my peers most like about me, and what I would change if I were CEO of my company. That was interesting and we had a long conversation about that. She took a lot of notes, and asked me to elaborate on my extracurricular activities, why which organization, my engagements...etc.

We also talked about the Goizueta business school and its program, and what I found most interesting about it. At the end, she asked me if I had any further questions, and I asked three questions, which we discussed for another 10 minutes....
Overall, the chemistry was good and the conversation went smoothly.

Good luck to everybody!

-it is good for finance, consulting and marketing...many graduates enter these fields. Emory has strong networks across the nation for graduates, but in particular in NY and Atlanta....
- emory also uses its strong connection to Coca Cola (Goizueta, former CEO of Coca Cola), which funds the business program heavily.
- it has recently changed its curriculum to emphasize leadership and real world business exposure (Management practice, real world wednesday's etc...)

good luck

So, I got the call from admissions last week, and am officially in. I will be visiting in late January and will have more info then. I think nefertiti summed it up pretty well.

Congratulations dearest LetsGoMets!
I remember reading that you first got the acceptance e-mail and not the call.
Is that right ?
Also, how much time elapsed between your interview and the acceptance?

My profile is posted in the profiles thread, but for convenience sake, I'll post it again here.

25/M/Finance Background/White/US Citizen
780 GMAT (50M 47V)
2.5 GPA from a top 25 US University/Applied Math and Economics

I saw the acceptance on Opus first. Maybe 2-3 business days between when I saw the acceptance and when admissions called me. Only problem was that they called about 4 minutes after Kellogg rejected me, so I wasn't remotely excited. Since the other rejections have poured in, I've warmed up a little bit to Emory.

I interviewed at an MBA fair in Sept, my application was complete in early/mid october, I got an email from them saying that my application was complete in November, and then the decision came out the first/second week of December.
