we have to move on as well... explore other options and enrich our experiences during this long wait...

there's some much needed kick in the head news... apparently, there are a LOT of people on the WL. that being true, we're really not much better off than new applicants for the next round: they didn't shed off as many people as i hoped, and we, apparently, are not that special...
am i correct in saying that everyone who got waitlisted got interviewed already? meaning, there are no waitlists without interviews? that'll narrow down the pool a little bit, i tihnk.
waitlist strategies... here are mine:
1. hedge by working on two things in parallel: ensure my slot in the school i got into, while simultaneously making my LBS application even better... letters to the admin, etc. this is much harder than it sounds like, because the other school is in a whole different country, so the loan process is different, the visa requirements are different, etc. so i don't really want to spend too much energy on it yet, knowing that i might not even be matriculating there.
2. get in touch with LBS friends, just to touch base and maybe ask them for help (not sure what help yet).
3. email back the admits committee, restating just how interested i still am in LBS.
other tips and strategies you know of, please share. thanks all, you guys make this waitlist period so much easier. if nothing else, it's nice to know we all commiserate with each other.

i agree with bsd's point.
chainchain, i'm usually very cautious when it comes to extracting or believing stats from forums for the following reasons:
1 - forums, based on my own limited experience, are not a reliable indicator of the count of admits/wl/dings or even the proportions among these (ie the sample extracted from forums is not helpful to interpolate for the wider population).
2 - add to that, as you might have noticed during the last decision release, there are many lurkers (multiples of the current active posters here) surfing around; you'll hear from some of these guys later when things get a bit hotter, or when questions arise.
3 - i think there's a skew in terms that admitted folks would be naturally more vocal to report their results compared to waitlisted and rejected applicants.
what i'm confident of: (i) the waitlisted pool is sufficiently large, (ii) LBS' yield is high (iii) the large majority of us will wait many months before getting a "closure" and (iv) our chances are on the low side.
therefore, my tip would be to set our expectations well, realize that our applications and profiles are competitive in this fierce weird MBA industry, and seriously and realistically move on and consider other options.

I think there are some good chances to get an admit at IE (rolling admit, Nov'10 or April'11), INSEAD Jan'11 or Vlerick, if you consider European MBAs.
