Calling all HBS 2011 Applicants!! (Including 2+2)

Still waiting on one of my recommenders to submit their stuff. What happens if they miss the noon deadline? I've already submitted, but my heart is pounding with <12 hrs to go before the R1 window shuts!

What can I say that might be helpful to Round One applicants as they prepare to hit the "submit" button? Not sure how long this list can get without provoking "duh...of course" reactions, but:

1.We're serious about the noon deadline. In order to start reviewing applications we need to have a very distinct "cutoff" to start the presses rolling. If you are late for Round One, you will become a Round Two applicant.
2.The email response you receive after you submit will tell you clearly if you are in Round One or Round Two. If you call or email us with that question, we won't know the answer - we will send you right back to check your email.
3.All Round One applicants are advised to read about the timing of decision notifications in the previous "From the Director" update (dated September 20, 2010).
4.Please make sure your recommenders are aware of the October 1 noon deadline. We make every attempt to add late-arriving recommendations to your file, but we make no guarantees.
5.GMAT scores are self-reported, and we do NOT need to have received your official score before the October 1 deadline - an unofficial score is fine. We verify scores for all accepted candidates later in the season.
6.All standardized tests - GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, PTE - MUST be taken before you submit your application...NOT afterwards.

I'm afraid that you will go to R2 if the recommender misses the deadline

I'm pretty sure this isn't true if he just barely misses it. They said this time they'll make an effort to keep this from happening. In years past, they even said they'd review your file if you had two recommenders in on time and the last comes in within a few days. With the accelerated interview schedule, they may not want to be held to this, but if they miss it by an hour or two, i doubt it'll be a problem.

On the other hand, if YOU miss submitting by noon by even a minute, they're very clear they'll push you.

With that said, submitted.

I called HBS and they told me that as long as I've submitted I'm in for R1. That being said, if the LOR isn't uploaded by like the end of day or tomorrow, they may print my app without it and basically a whole range of non-desirable outcomes could then occur.

Did their email explicitly mention whether you are in for r1/r2? I thought their email was supposed to mention that but mine only repeated the deadlines.

Mine did not but I assume that since application and LOR were sent on time we should be considered for r1

Same situation. Perhaps because I submitted before my LORs were in my confirmation email listed only deadlines.
