Hi guys,

I have a call with CBS tomorrow to discuss fellowships. They make it sound like an interview. Do you know what this is about? any preparation recommended?

i've pretty much written off my chances at cbs. i applied on 12/10, interviewed on 1/14, interview complete on 1/18, and i still don't have an answer. i haven't been able to get additional information about my status on the phone. maybe the 19th week will be the charm haha. i'm certainly not holding my breath. i stopped holding it in early feb.

It was a quick skype video call. Couple of classical questions (greatest challenge, greatest accomplishment, why did you choose your career etc.) It went well overall but:
- I was asked for a lot of details on why Columbia was a good fit for me: e.g. course names etc. and was only able to give little.
- I have an NGO background and tried to sound like a business guy. I learned at the end of the call that the fellowship I was being considered for (80k$) was for people with specific career objectives in the humanitarian/development fields.

Overall I don't think I'll get it. If so I probably won't take the CBS offer.

Hey Crackalack - keep the faith mate! I was looking at last year's thread and it looked like people were getting in off the waitlist well into late June. Where would you go if you had to choose today?

I'm not sure if anyone is still following this, but for the record I applied 3/19, went under review 3/23 and was rejected w/o interview 4/25
