Hi all,
I am from India and I plan on applying to the Judge Business School Class 2012
My Profile:GMAT - 740
Years of work ex (at present): 4 yrs
Years of work ex (at the time of joining an MBA school in 2012, hopefully!): 5 years
Industry: Microfinance (Social Sector) - India
Age: 27 yrs
I have a couple of queries for the Cambridge Admissions Team:
1. For Judge Business School students, I see that the mean age is 30 years and Mean Avg. Work exp. is close to 6.5 years. Given that usually there is a strong correlation between the accepted students' age/work-ex and the above two figures, do you think that 4/5 years is enough on the lower side to be a little bit of a disadvantage and might need making up in other areas? Also, which figure does the school consider as work-exp: a.) at the time of applying? or b.) at the time of joining
2. Post MBA, I plan to continue working in the development sector and thus would appreciate any financing/funding help in terms of scholarships/fellowships. One of the options available to Cambridge admits is the Gates Cambridge Scholarship. On one of the forums, I had read that for an
MBA admit, to get the Gates Cambridge Scholarship is extremely rare. I just wanted to confirm with the Admissions Team on whether there have been past instances where an
MBA admit has got the Gates scholarship and if there are any general trends on the same, say 1-2 students every year or so
Thanks in advance for your help.
