Dear Cambridge Judge Admissions,

I interviewed earlier this week on campus, but haven't heard back yet. Are only admits notified within the week? Thanks.

Sorry, there has been a delay with some of the interview decisions and you shouldn't take it that the delay necessarily means you have been unsuccessful. The interview decisions should be sent out early next week. I apologise for the anxiety that this delay has caused.

Conrad.

Hi Cambridge Admissions Team.

I am planning to apply for full time MBA and have a couple of questions:

a. I work in a family business, so my immediate supervisors are relatives. Would a recommendation from a client or someone I have done business with suffice?

b. How does Cambridge compare GRE scores with GMAT scores?

I have already taken the GRE, and still have time to take the GMAT. Thanks!

Yes, you can provide a recommendation from a client or supplier. It should be someone who knows you well in a work context.

When assessing GRE scores, we look at your percentile. Similar to how we assess GMAT.

Once admitted, is a candidate obliged to continue working until he/she fulfills the 3 year work experience requirement? (given that a candidate has almost 3 years experience at the point when the offer is made)

You should work the full three years or as close to it as possible. it is not just a case of satisfying an admissions requirement but also to gain as much valuable work experience as possible so that you can contribute to the class.

Dear Conrad,

I have recently been invited to the final interview despite my sub-standard TOEFL score (and I am really looking forward to coming to Cambridge on February 16th). I am aware that, should I be made an offer, I would have to go through an assessment by the Language Cambridge, but I was wondering how this additional assessment actually works: should I, in case, return to Cambridge or is there an Internet-based test/phone-interview?

I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Best wishes

Patrizio

The language assessment will be conducted over the phone.

Dear Conrad,

I'm currently in the process of applying to JBS. I noticed that in the application form there is no place to list extra-curricular/volunteer work experiences. Should I list these experiences in the CV? I'm worried that I may breach the one-page mark.

Kind Regards

Dear Cambridge Judge Admissions,
Regarding the essay "Please provide information on any aspect of your candidacy that requires further explanation, or information that you would like the Admissions Committee to know", is it Ok to write about the sports, hobbies and community activities that I practise / practised during my free time?

I understand that I could write this essay if I have a low GMAT or something in my candidacy that I feel is weak (may be my TOEFL score of 101?).
However, could I describe in this essay something positive, related to activities outside my job?

Kind regards,
Maximiliano

Yes, you can use it to write about something you have done that you feel especially proud about and that you want to share with the admissions committee. Best of luck.

Yes you should list your extra curricular activities in your CV. What you could do is, instead of having a long list of activities, pick out the most note-worthy achievements. You can even weave them into your essay if you wish.
