Re: Calling all Berkeley-Haas Fall 2011 Applicants [#permalink]
My feedback session was good. With these sort of things, there is bound to be the obligatory CYA stuff along the lines of "this is a holistic process/there are at least 2 readers/the yield was high/the pool of applicants" etc, but I had some definitely useful takeaways from my session. They know how unpleasant this process is, especially if you've been strung along for months and months, and they are one of the few top 10 schools to offer this kind of service. I was able to have an honest conversation, and that's a rare treat in the university admissions world.

Feedback call was scheduled 15 minutes. They know what you will be asking and my call was actually done in 7 minutes.

Structure was:
Strengths in your app
Weaknesses- they go over work, outside of work, what they saw in your essays, GMAT score, Work experience etc etc- basically cover all aspects in both cases.

They asked me to resubmit essays as they felt it was a tad bit casual the first time around.

I also need more extra curricular stuff on my app. Anyone have any idea what i can do in 5-6 months?

Re: Calling all Berkeley-Haas Fall 2011 Applicants [#permalink]
Hello Gmatclubbers and current Haas students,

I am visiting Haas campus on Sept 8-9, 2011 and came to realize that class visits and lunch with students start from Sept 12. However, since I have already bought my tickets, I can only attend Information Session.

I was wondering if there are any current Haas students at this forum, who are in campus that time, and would be able to share their perspectives on the school.
My short term goal is Management Consulting and in the long term, I am looking to work in transportation infrastructure, energy, and utilities sectors in emerging economies ideally at World Bank or a consulting organization specialized in these sectors.

Thanks a lot for your time in advance.

Get in touch with the school or a prof directly and he should be able to accomodate you in one of his classes.

Thanks ^^
Luckily, I changed my flights and now am going to attend all Haas events on Sept. 12th. Sweet deal is I saved 50 bucks changing my flights (you never know Southwest that they drop down their ticket price and obviously don't tell you!!)

If anyone from this forum is also there that day, lemme know. :-D

I might be there...not sure yet. Is Sept 12 the first day of the Fall semester? If yes, perhaps the students will be busy catching up after the summer, and classes might be light.
