Hi all,
I am trying to get a hand on probability, so I framed a question myself while solving one..
A division of a company consists of seven men and five women. If three of these twelve employees are randomly selected as representatives of the division, what is the probability that the representatives will consist of two females and one male?
my question: And I don't know if this even possible..or did i totally screwed up combination question with probability.. Can someone try to solve it?
A division of a company consists of 8 men and 4 women. If three of these twelve employees are randomly seated in 3 chairs in a meeting room, what is the probability that the representatives will consist of two females and one male and both females do not sit together?
Thanks!
Total Outcomes = 12C3*3!
Favourable outcomes = 8C1*4C2*2!
Probability = Favourable / Total = 8*12/12*11*10 = 4/55
