(69.28 × 0.004)/0.03 is
Approximately (70 × 0.004)/0.03
Approximately (0.28)/0.03
Approximately 0.3/0.03
Approximately 10

So, 9.2 is the closest.

IMO its C.

(69.28*0.004)/0.03
= first remove decimals: (69.28*0.004)/3
this gives 2309 approx and multiply by 0.004
there isnt any need to multiply even as by decimal places its 2.309*4... only one option has one digit before decimal that is c 9.2
hence its c

kudos if its a correct solution.

Hi All,

This question is a 'lift' of a similar question in the OGs:

The closest approximation of (69.28 × 0.004)/0.03 is

A. 0.092
B. 0.92
C. 9.2
D. 92
E. 920

(69.28 × 0.004)/0.03

1. 0.004 = 4 × 10^(-3)
2. 0.03 = 3 × 10^(-2)
3. (a × b)/c = a × (b/c)
4. 0.004/0.03 = 4 × 10^(-3)/ (3 × 10^(-2)) = 4 × 10^( -3 - (-2))/3 = 4 × 10^(-1) / 3 = (4/3) × 10^(-1) = 1.333 × 10^(-1)
Therefore,

(69.28 × 0.004)/0.03 = 69.28 × (0.004/0.03) = 69.28 × 1.33 × 10^(-1) = 69.28 × 1.33/10 = 6.928*1.33

Now,
7 × 2 = 14
7 × 1 = 7

or better:

6.9 × 1 = 6.9
6.9 × 2 = 13.8

hence,
6.9 <6.928 × 1.33 < 13.8

9.2 is the only answer that satisfies this condition.

The closest approximation of (69.28 × 0.004)/0.03 is

(69.28×0.004)/0.03
=(69.28×4)/30
now, [69.28/30] =2
so, 69.28/30 will be around 2 which on multiplication with 4 gives around 8.

so, correct answer C
