Area of all small circles 13*pi*(1)^2=13*pi. To find the radius of the big circle, there is an equilateral triangle with each side 6cm. So centroid √3*6/3=2√3. The radius is 2√3+1 cm. Thus, the area of the big circle = pi*(2√3+1)^2=pi*(13+4√3). Therefore, the area of the shaded region is pi*(13+4√3)-13*pi=pi*4√3 (A).
