What is the difference between,

"The moon’s gravitational pull results in the twice-daily cycle of the tides" &

" Resulting from the moon’s gravitational pull, the tides undergo a twice-daily cycle."

Also why is B wrong?

Also why is B wrong?

In the first one, the modifier is correctly modifying the Moon's gravitational pull, whereas second one is awkwardly constructed (not clear in meaning). Generally, modifiers must be placed next to the action/object it modifies.

The intended meaning is that moon's gravitational pull is resulting in the twice daily cycle,
whereas in option B it is saying that the tides are result of moons gravitational pull.

So B is changing the intended meaning.
