A)though ..... whale's flippers.... THEIR (has no plural noun to refer to)

B) correct

C) that of ---> wrong S-V agreement

D) those of (has no reference noun ---> Atlantic pilot whales' flippers of the short-finned pilot whales make no sense)

E) wrong comparison--> pilot whales vs flippers

A – ‘their’ is not clear on what its antecedent is supposed to be.
B – seemingly correct
C – ‘that’ is used for the plural ‘flippers’
D – ‘those’ has no clear noun to refer to
E – compares the ‘pilot whale’ to ‘flippers’
