Hi all,

I have my second official GMAT on Saturday and I am worried that test day anxiety is going to prevent me from achieving my desired score. More specifically, I wanted to get some input from experts and other students on the following topics:

Test time is not my best time: My GMAT is at 8am and I am not a morning person but the test center in my city only has morning slots, any tips to make sure I am ready to rock at 8 am?

Getting stuck in the first Quant questions: In my first test I absolutely froze and spent way too much time on the first few quant questions, any tips to avoid this?

Making careless mistakes on Quant: When I am well focused I tend to score way better on practice quizzes, but when I am not focused my performance can really suffer, any tips to maximize focus and make sure I'm in the "Zone"?

Any other morning routine tips for D-Day I should consider?

For context, I scored a 700 (Q43, V41) on my first test about a month ago. I had put in a lot of time of studying on TTP (+200h) but still did terrible on quant probably due to test anxiety as well as for not having done any practice tests or really reviewed stuff that I did early in my prep. After my initial failure I took three weeks off work and have been studying a lot with OG material, have done 4 official practice tests with the following scores:
- 750 (Q50, V41)
- 750 (Q50, V42)
- 760 (Q51, V42)
- 760 (Q49, V45)

your practice test scores are just awesome

First thing you should do to reduce anxiety is almost no studying a day before test and a good night sleep. Sleep at around 9-10 pm so that you can wake up by 5 with 8 hrs of sleep. DO some EXERCISE. Simple stretching exercise or a walk in park for 15-20 mins would be good. Then do some meditation for 10-15 mins at test center before start of test in the test room.

Eat yoghurt (250gm) with sugar or some cheese slice sandwitch. This will keep you full and will provide you energy for three hours. Keep a protein bar with you to eat in the 8 min break

Best of luck
