Answer = A. 173.6

White paint required \(= \frac{350}{2.016} = \frac{350}{2 + 0.016}\)

\(\frac{350}{2} = 175\)

More the denominator, less is the numerator

So the answer should be less than 175, only option A fits in

Since the ratio of Black to White is 2.016 to 1 this implies that Amount of Black is going to be more than (approximately double) the amount of White. This implies Option C, D and E can not be correct.

Now between A and B:

Black:White = 2.016:1 Since the ratio is more than double, the amount of White Paint should be less than half of Black Paint. B is more than half so can not be the answer, A fits the criteria hence should be the correct answer. No calculation needed whatsoever.

Ratio is approx 2:1 black to white paint.

350 black/2 = 175 but the real ratio is a little bit more than 2, so the answer will be less than 175, hence A.
