y = 3x as triangle is isosceles triangle

ALso, 3x+5y = 180 (Linear pair)

i.e. 3x+5(3x) = 180

i.e. 18x =180

i.e. x = 10

Answet: Option B

In this Triangle , y = 3x as both legs are equal their angle must be equal.

So, y = 3x.

5y = 15x.

we know that straight line has 180 degree angle.

15x + 3x = 180

18x = 180

x = 10.

B is the correct answer.

Solution

To find:
    • The value of x

Approach and Working:
    • As the triangle is isosceles, y = 3x.

Also, we can say 3x + 5y = 108
    • Or, 3x + 5 (3x) = 180
    • Or, 3x + 15x = 180
    • Or, 18x = 180
    • Or, x = 10

Hence, the correct answer is option B.

Answer: B
