Imo in the name of parenting is not clear as what it modifies it should cuckoos birds that does in the name of parenting and not the host company.

B. When their eggs are rejected by the host birds, certain cuckoos and cowbirds, in the name of parenting, resort to bullying and destruction of host parents??? eggs, forcing many birds to adopt the unwelcome alien eggs in their nest.

Is that correct that first "their" refers to "cuckoos and cowbirds" while the second occurrence of a pronoun "their" refers to "many birds" (presumably to "host birds")?
