Which of the following is equivalent to \(\frac{8!+9!}{10!}\)?

A. 1/72
B. 9/100
C. 1/9
D. 9/10
E. 17/10

\(\frac{8!+9!}{10!}\)

\(\frac{8!(1+9)}{10!}\)

Reducing 8! --> \(\frac{10}{10*9}\)

\(\frac{1}{9}\)

Hence C

Factoring out 8! from the numerator and denominator, we have:

8!(1 + 9)/[8!(9 x 10)]

Canceling the 8!, we have:

10/90

1/9
