HAHA!
What were the main pitfalls associated with applying to Yale?
I noticed that it seems to be a lot lower in the rankings compared to the reputation it seems to command over here in the UK!
Is it a case of Oxford/Cambridge syndrome where the MBA programme may not be as highly ranked as it should be, but still you have exposure to the awesome alumni network/reputation of the uni as a whole?
Anyone have any idea of what Yale Som's reputation is like with IB's over in the UK?
thx!
Take a look at this, posted a while back:
not many takers for Yale, why?I was going to add a bunch of commentary to this post, but just deleted it all, because it's mostly been covered in the thread linked above. Suffice it to say, I believe SOMers (including myself - soon) will feel no need to be defensive about their rankings in the near future. The upward trajectory of the school is one of the most inspiring things about it.
As for IB in the UK specifically, I'm not quite sure. I know that BarCap Americas is a top employer for Yale grads, but don't know if that translates over to Barclay's UK offices. I assume it doesn't hurt. I also know that aside from Non-Profit & Social Enterprise, Yale is also known to be a great Finance school, for whatever that's worth, though the employment stats are pretty diverse.
Good luck!
