For those of you that haven't received an interview invite, what is the status of your application? Mine says "Submitted". I was wondering whether that gets changed to "Received" or "Under Review" or anything like that.

i don't even see a status on mine actually. it says

For those of you folks weighing the on-campus interview:

I had an off-campus alumni interview, (in Fort Lauderdale, FL - not a major market!), and it went great. However, they were a little sticky about putting it together for me, probably because my permanent address is in Brooklyn. That said, I felt justified in asking as I'd previously interviewed on-campus, and done all of the campus visit activities: tour, class visit, lunch, etc. I believe SOM is another one of those that takes a visit very seriously into account. So if you've already visited, or plan on making a separate visit after the interview period, then I'd say you're fine to request an off-campus. If not, you'll want to seriously consider making the trip.

Anyone stayed at La Quinta Inn, New Haven? How far is it from campus? Do I need to bring a full set of pajamas complete with footies to keep the bed bugs from biting?

I have never had a bad experience with La Quinta. I even have their loyalty card. So it should be ok.

I LOVE that La Quinta. And it's so close to campus. Good luck!

That's correct. You'll get an update notification that provides a link to a PDF letter. The letter will say if you're accepted, denied or wait listed. If you don't see such a notification, then you're still being processed.

Hello all – I wonder if an “admitted and Attending Yale SOM, Class of 2014” thread has been started. If not, I’m going to start one ASAP.

After some consideration, I decided to go to Yale instead of Wharton (I asked them to remove my name from the Admit list, painful as it was to say no to a lovely program – Philly and I are enemies! ). OK, I’ll post the link for Yale Admits shortly!! Cheers!!

Congrats on the admit!

I personally love Philly, but prefer the environment at Yale itself over Wharton's.

I am applying to both Yale and Wharton and would like to ask, what led you to choose Yale over Wharton?

I just got my interview invitation sometime on Friday afternoon New Haven time. I am in China, so trying to schedule an interview out here.

Good luck everyone. It seems like the interview invites are coming out at a pretty steady clip - not like they came out in a flood at the beginning. Here's hoping you get good news sooner than later.

I was offered enrollment after round 1. I am an officer being sponsored by the U.S. Army. Now I have to convince a Colonel in the Army to go over the standard funding cap of $45,000 to pay for $53,900 tuition and fees price tag. My branch has the money but my peers are earning MBAs at public institutions at a quarter of the cost. I am explicitly prohibited from paying the difference out of pocket.

Any thoughts on how I can justify this as a valuable investment for the government? What can I point to in order to show Yale's cost will return a higher quality education than a state school?

Congrats on the admit!

The school didn't offer you any money? In addition to making the case to your Colonel, try to get the school to give you some sort of scholarship/fellowship/grant to make up the difference.

I'd also suggest you reach out to SOM's active military club, as well as any military alumni you know of to see how they were able to work this out. I know that they have a pretty sizable contingent, and that their club is pretty active and engaged. I'm sure they'd be happy to give advice.
