Official Explanation

Answer B
- The major issue here is verb tense. The phrase "As business grows more international" describes a phenomenon that is leading to the phenomena described later in the sentence. Therefore, all of the ideas should be described using the same tense as the introductory phrase – present tense. A vertical scan allows us to eliminate choices (A) and (D) which both use present perfect tense for the idea of "becoming increasingly . . .", as well as (C), which uses the past tense "majored", and (E), which uses "having majored". (E) also uses the awkward "are being increasingly. That leaves (B), the correct answer.

Also note the choice of "like" versus "such as". "Like" should be used to introduce a comparison, while "such as" introduces examples. Here, the purpose is to introduce examples, so "such as" is correct. This realization would allow us to vertically scan and eliminate (A) and (D).

As business grows more international, students majoring in culturally-based fields of study like those of foreign languages and international affairs have been becoming increasingly successful in the job market.

A. majoring in culturally-based fields of study like those of foreign languages and international affairs have been becoming increasingly

B. who major in such culturally-based fields of study as foreign languages and international affairs are becoming more and more

C. who majored in culturally-based fields of study such as those of foreign languages and international affairs are being increasingly

D. who major in culturally-based fields of study like those of foreign languages and international affairs have been becoming more and more

E. having majored in such culturally-based fields of study as foreign languages and international affairs are being increasingly

Edited from OG : LINK

1. There is no ccomapriso, so "like those" is wrong ---> A, D are out.
2. "As business grows more international" - present simple, so the 2nd part has to be present simple ---> C, E are out

B is perfect.
