I think a certain ancient South American civilization might say that's a few months premature. Either way, why are we worrying about the waitlist then?

Booth is hedging that the rapture/apoloypse happens early (before October 21st or whatever the Mayans said) and thus they need students. We are hedging that if rapture/apocolypse happens the consequences are not bad enough to make the NPV of the MBA negative. For Booth it is essentially a free option, the only cost being having to read our desperate and whiny letters, but they can just ignore them, which seems to be what they are doing.

My hope is that all the admits who said that they are going to b-school to make the world a better place have an epiphany that an MBA might not be the optimal route to achieve their goals.

Most people that say they want to go to business school to "save the world" end up in banking or consulting. Fact.

Well - I think some would argue that making a ton of money you could possibly later give away is one avenue to doing that. When faced with the actual bill for the MBA, I'm sure plenty of people realize they have to change their tune.

I guess that's a ding for me. I told them that I had to know by August 5th and now no word. Not too worried about it though. I'm excited to attend Michigan this fall!

Good luck to the rest of you!

Best of luck to the class of 2013. Maybe one of you will hire me one day.

out of curiosity, how do you even check your application status? my old log in doesn't work now that they have started applications for next year.

I was having the same issue; however, when I got the email from Booth, the link took me back to the Login page I was used to seeing. I would assume if you haven't received an email, your status hasn't changed. Consider yourself lucky to still be hanging on. Good luck.
