Does anyone know how many deposits are there in total? And when are the subsequent ones after June 3rd? I'm guessing if anyone is invited at all now, it has to be after one of these deposit dates. Can't really see how else would 'spaces become available'

For Round 3 admits the first deposit is due June 1 and the second deposit is due July 1. For Round 2 admits, the first deposit was due April 29th, and the second one is June 3. There are only 2 deposits. Hope that helps.

Absolute does Nikki .. Thanks!
So June 3rd and July 1st are going to be the dates to watch out for the rest of us still on WL.

You might repost on the PT MBA program page as this thread is almost all FTers.

I'm starting Booth's evening program this fall :)

Did any R2 waitlisters get dinged? Just wondering because a student currently at Booth told me the chance of getting in as a R2 waitlister was good due to the fact that they severely trimmed down the WL after R1.

Posted from my mobile device

Yep, I got dinged....

Hey guys... how many applicants do u think get WLed after round 3.... counted 20 on this forum itself... am guessing a 100 ppl... gunning for a handfulla seats... feels like I am starting the process all over again except that the pool has been scrubbed 3 times to leave only the strongest candidates in the running...

Hmm... guess the only think I can do is be hopelessly optimistic...

A completely unscientific guess:

There are 75-100 on the wait list going for 10-20 seats. We will see movement (admits and dings) on or around June 3rd and July 1st. After that, there will be sporadic admits up until class starts.

I doubt that. Last year even with fewer folks waitlisted, about 10-20 were admitted (and thats only from GC). Assuming the 5x multiplier to apply to the entire applicant pool we could possibly see many more getting through. It also depends on other schools. I am sure some of the Booth admits are WL at H/W . Both these schools have waitlisted many more this year.

10-20 admitted during the summer?

I checked last year's thread and there were 9 admits after round 3, so I guess you're right - there will be more than just 10-20 admits over the summer.

I'm not sure that is true.

Given the high yield reported in round 1 (and likely round 2 given the amount of people waitlisted in R2 and R3, and the record attendance at Admit Weekend), I don't think we can definitely assume as many admits during the summer. Add to that the large Wharton waitlist that likely didn't change any current Booth admits minds, and I think we're at a point where we are all "replacement players". If someone with a similar profile declines their spot, then we've got a shot. Else, who knows?

We'll probably find out quite a bit more after June 3rd...

I sincerely hope I'm wrong and that we've got spots for every GMATClubber that truly wants to enroll at Booth this fall!

Just trying to be an optimist here.
I think the high yield from R1 was balanced with a smaller R2 admit pool. I have been following the Wharton forum as well and it seems they are speculating 100 seats that haven't been filled yet. This definitely sounds like a ripple spillover effect from H to W to B. If W sees a reasonable amount of movement in the waitlist based on the number of people who opt for H, I think we should see a similar effect to propagate downstream to Booth.

That said, anyone here planning on sending Booth a "forget me not" note ?

R2 WLed update: Got dinged off the wailtist on May 18th. Sent two updates - professional and extracurricular. Also got two extra LORs - from alum and current student.

Sorry to hear that.

For future applicants or current waitlisters, I think this shows that updates don't matter too much. All I sent was a one paragraph email with little substance other than saying I would accept if offered. I think they already have an idea of who they are going to let in - updates probably don't make a big difference compared to the overall application you've already put together.

I agree to some extent. I think they only care about significant updates - a promotion, new job, etc. A lot of people (myself included) send them info that really doesn't add anything to their candidacy. I got off the waitlist at Ross, and I didn't send anything in.

One question though. If they have a good idea who they are going to admit, then why would they waitlist so many other candidates?

I should have said they know who they would admit first. They don't know how many spots will open up, so they keep the waitlist large enough that there is no way they end up without enough students.
