Hey international admits....
How long does the loan process take at Booth? ...

Booth still doesn't even have their financial aid site up yet, so no one has started on these, they said they expect it to be available early-mid June and that they would have plenty of time

Curious about the scholarships/fellowships that Booth gives along with the admission offer. Didn't seem to have many report $60K and more scholarships. Isn't Booth usually the more generous one with respect to financial aid? How many full-tuition scholarships do they usually give away? Any statistics by any chance? Many thanks!

I can't recall the source, but I think around 30% of admits receive some form of scholarship. $60K+ scholarships are rare in most schools, Booth included. They have quite a few full-ride and full-ride + stipend fellowships, but these are usually under the Distinguished Fellows Program.

Thanks dalillama! Wonder if there're ways to find out how many "full-ride (w/ or w/o stipend)" Booth normally gave out. Still debating between Booth and a comporable school - and it's now coming down to the cost (or the lack thereof, hopefully).

Btw, you decided to go to Booth (based on the color code of your signature)?

Hmm... That's a good question, the answer to which I have no idea.

Well, to be honest, the vast majority of these schools have comparable costs (which possible exception to the NYC schools being slightly more expensive due to, well, NYC). Even then there are long threads in this forum about the appropriate weight of scholarships in making a decision between school A and B. Are you debating between applying or have you already been admitted?

And yes, I'm going to Booth!

hey - as far as i know there are only 5 full rides with stipend under the fellows program. you can find out more here: https://www.chicagobooth.edu/fulltime/ad ... olarships/
Although i note that it says that the merit scholarships only go to $30k per annum but I know that they go to $40k per annum. There is also additional scholarships that get handed out after 1st year.

Have an WLers heard anything yet or had any correspondence with Booth?

Looks like last year there was a bunch of movement on 5/26 and 5/27 even before the deposit deadline. I'm beginning to wonder if there is not going to be much movement this year.

Just received an email asking how long I'm willing to stay in the WL. The email also asks to state the level of interest in staying on WL. My guess is that this is going out to all WL'ers. If anyone gets something else, please keep us updated. Thanks.

Got it as well. Do you think we are any better off telling them a longer time frame? You must be right? It's tough considering the move, putting in deposits on leases elsewhere, etc.

Also, has anyone visited the campus after being waitlisted? If so how was the experience? Worth it? I am considering a visit to campus even though classes are out. However, I am coming from California so I'm trying to weigh the benefit vs. cost / time, etc.

Did anyone else receive a waitlist status update asking you to demonstrate your interest in remaining on the waitlist and to give a final deadline after which you will no longer wish to remain on the waitlist?

I replied by pulling out of the waitlist. I can no longer justify being there since I already made my decision and will be matriculating in a mere two months. I wouldn't want to take the spot of someone who really needs it. This decision wraps up the year for me. Good luck to everyone who are waiting to hear some good news, my best wishes are with you.

Over and out.

Anyone else think that the language in the waitlist letter foreshadows that they might NOT make any more admission decisions?
