You don't see the irony and intellectual dishonesty in that statement?
First you tried to sequester candid discussion by attacking the posters rather than the argument. Then when someone disagree with your disagreement you claim "respect diverse opinion." Where was that political-correct sentiment and faux-respect before?
I'm sure you have done your own due diligence. Do you mind sharing that and discuss why you believe differently?
I also did my own due diligence and found similar sentiment to the other posters. However, I would like to add that the people I spoke to had misplaced expectation and hence the disgruntled attitude. If you care about LBS then you care about getting people who are the best fit not aimlessly promote the brand.
LBS is very much a finance school and unsurprisingly does not do as well in a finance-led recession. That doesn't take away from the school. Stanford had similar issues during the tech-bust.
The bigger picture and conclusion is embracing diversity. You never know what industry is going to be hot. Being a school heavily invested in any sector is just a bad idea. Perhaps the school mis-manged a little and went long on finance and didn't hedge. So maybe you can draw that the school is not as "diverse" industry-wise as it should be and/or it leads others to believe. Then the natural question is, what is the school doing about it?
I think discussion is better than mindless bashing or promoting. You do realize that your statement is the opposite-end equivalency of the people you tried to undermine right?

seriously? you don't think that's overanalyzing? i too joined gmatclub after acceptance. that doesn't de-legitimize my opinion does it?
i dont know who's right but those discussions are good. having been through the process, there's a ton of marketing you have to cut through. to hear candid criticism is very helpful. i don't know why there's an implicit rule in not criticizing schools.
sometimes things are what they are and its helpful for people coming into this to know the full story. expectation managed so they won't be resentful. i think it behoves LBS that potential students are having this type of discussion and doing research.
Those are just my observations and it's up to you as how you judge. We carry different brain cells so it's no surprise that we see things from a different perspective and I respect that.
