I got an invite. Easter Bunny came early. Christmas was cancelled for GMAT prep - now I suppose Easter is cancelled for interview prep :)

I was analysing LBS employment report from 2011 yesterday to see how many students from different regions got jobs in other regions and here's what I got in terms of students receiving jobs that were not from the region:
31 students got jobs in Europe excl. UK
7 students got jobs in Asia
13 got jobs in US/Canada
4 got jobs in Lat. America
169 students got jobs in the UK

Middle East and Africa and Australia got a negative demographics in a sense that people from those regions preferred to stay elsewhere, resulting in a net negative flow.

Pedpt

Libraal,

Did they mention the scholarship attribution criteria?

Does anyone have info about the scholarships amount?

Cheers

No idea Pedpt, I didn't go into that level of detail as it was sufficient for me to know that I didn't get an automatic one.

They are in the process of compiling the offer packs, some of them are already there, however, it will take some time for them to send them out and due to Easter holidays we probably will only get them early next week. Now, they said that those in London are welcome to come and pick their offer packs.

UPD: Also asked about any updates on the HSBC loan and they had no news to share. The message for now is that applicants need to find their sources of funding. I hope that they sort something out, e.g. Prodigy finance scheme already mentioned here.

I find that prodigy has already open LBS MBA access on the website. Has anyone managed to apply a loan from them ?

Dear All,
if you are planning to accept LBS MBA offer, please change your status to "Matriculating". Many of you have applied to several schools and now it is quite difficult to assess how many people withdrew the offers opening places for waitlisters. Thanks in advance!

Received the pffer pack in Beijing this morning, however, the pack doesn't say anything about financing facilities, which is my most concerned issue today.

Still exciting, especially when I wear on the school badge:)

seriously? you don't think that's overanalyzing? i too joined gmatclub after acceptance. that doesn't de-legitimize my opinion does it?

i dont know who's right but those discussions are good. having been through the process, there's a ton of marketing you have to cut through. to hear candid criticism is very helpful. i don't know why there's an implicit rule in not criticizing schools.

sometimes things are what they are and its helpful for people coming into this to know the full story. expectation managed so they won't be resentful. i think it behoves LBS that potential students are having this type of discussion and doing research.

happyface
Just a few observations based on reading the posts from the last couple days:

1. Wheretogo and ArnoldTW joined Gmatclub on Mar 30, 2012 and Mar 31, 2012, respectively;
2. Both Wheretogo and ArnoldTW had only 3 posts in total on gmatclub and all 'their' posts are in the LBS thread;
3. ArnoldTW consistently referred to things posted by Wheretogo;
4. Posts by both Wheretogo and ArnoldTW consist of similar grammar errors; and
5. We all know that LBS just released their R2 decision last Thurs and the waitlist process at LBS is extremely painful. In addition, the more admitted people who decided to turn down their offers, the higher chance waitlisters can get in.

Just my 2 cents.

Those are just my observations and it's up to you as how you judge. We carry different brain cells so it's no surprise that we see things from a different perspective and I respect that.

LBS portal has finally been updated today. If you need to check something i can help.
172 MBA2014 admits currently, remember someone asking about Australia and New Zealand, 10 and 2 respectively. taking into consideration, that this is already middle of April, 172 people seems not many... if the class will be ~400 people, it is way less than half...

I see 436 MBA 2014 admits (including the ones starting Aug 2012 and Jan 2013). Seems reasonable since they'll for sure admit at least 25% more than 400, which is the class size of MBA2013 (that's assuming a yield of 80%, which is really high).

Greece-5
US-73 (that's a lot!)
Australia-25
New Zealand-5
