i think the "before" part might work, since it could make logical sense. if you listen to music that stimulates your thoughts and focus before you start studying, you will get condition to it. therefore if you listen to music right before you take your test, it could do the same.

but i have to say that all n all, if you can find a way to calm your nerves before the test, you will definitely do better. remember one thing: one reason that most of people don't do as well on the actual test compare to the diagnostics they take is the test day anxiety and stress. these two factors will diminish your focus and cause you to fall for the tricky traps that the test makers make in the answer choices. so being calm = better score

i think in order for the retention to be associated with the memorization the activity needs to be done whilst hearing the music, but you would have to hear the music during the test to recall it, not a good way to set up a study ;p

basically yes,

i mean if you associate a sense with an action, you can recall it, like taste, smell, sound etc but you need to have the SAME feeling when you are testing, and since you can't listen to music, perhaps a different alternative might be better?

but that would work against you, since not listening to the music during the test will have a diverse effect now that you conditioned yourself to the music...

gets me super pumped up lol and i find i can study longer and harder during my sessions. tryna get that "wayne-train" :-D

at times lol. which is one of the reasons why i can't study at the library lol. i just study at home with the door closed haha.

I saw a guy in library the other day with headphones on, and had a frowny face, doing hand gestures, lip singing along, and doing his homework... now i believe he was listening to hard rap...probably for the same reasons as you do...lol

i think if you don't do the lip singing and hand gestures, you could improve your timing therefore increasing your score by 10 percentile...lol

yeah he was probably black, which makes it ok haha. i'm asian and live in the "hood" where asians are the minority so if i slipped up and said the "n" word during my study at the library, i'm pretty much done for lol
