Yes, although I think I'll ask for only one recommendation..

Yea. Me, too. Maybe just one. I can't pester more people, seriously. Also, I think Haas has been great in holding that WL chat right after the decisions and also, in telling us that they dont review material until 1st March. I'd really like other schools to show this transparency.

I know that its only March 3rd, but any updates as to where people stand with waitlist status? Any calls or change in status (will this happen when they re-open files?) on the admissions site? I understand its been the weekend but I figured I'd ask.

I actually did a class visit a few weeks ago and asked an adcom representative if waitlisted candidates should expect to hear something on the Round 2 decision date (3/26) about yes/no/keep waiting, and they were painfully vague. I got a "possibly, but we can't guarantee it" response... I do know a couple of people who got off the waitlist in late March during previous years, but of course they had 4 rounds then, so timelines were different. I am hoping we hear something around either the R1 deposit due date (3/11) or the R2 decision date (3/26), since those seem to be logical points in time. That said... who knows?

Any news for folks on the waitlist yet?

Nope, all quiet over here. I'm not able to make the chat tomorrow, hopefully someone can post a recap if the transcript isn't up for a while?

The chat was pretty bland - they really didn't want to reveal any stats of any kind - though that's not very surprising. To sum up their advice, basically make sure any recommendations and/or personal statements shed new light on you as an applicant rather than re-hash the same stuff.

Also, they said they'll start reviewing R2 waitlisters starting May 1 (they're reviewing R1 right now), so make sure to have all your extra documents in before that date to ensure your complete file gets reviewed. They'll try to give everyone a final decision by end of July (but could be later).

i spoke with someone from Admissions and they let me know that they've just started reviewing the waitlist in mid-april (not sure why they bothered with the recommended March 1 deadline when they seemingly had no intention of reviewing new material then).

they're waiting until all Rd 2 admits respond by end of April to see what the yield is, only then will they start sending out waitlist offers (early May at the soonest).

Guys, after we send the e-mail confirming the spot, what status are we supposed to see?

My status still says "Waitlist", but the description underneath it on the Status page has changed to say, "Thank you for accepting our offer for a place on our waitlist." I also received an e-mail from Haas acknowledging that I had accepted the waitlist spot.

I'm thinking about taking a Berkeley extension online math course to boost my quant profile. I assume that the school values certain courses more than others (calc > stats or pre calc) but can anyone confirm?

The course is a bit pricey too (~$900), do you guys recommend any alternatives?

I'm not sure about schools preferring one course over other. Anyhow, if you have not had so solid grades in one of these (or haven't taken them), your decision becomes easier. I think UCLA also offers courses. You may check those. Finally, if you don't want to spend that money, check out Coursera or a similar MOOC platform. They generally have basic math courses running pretty much all the time.

On a different note - anyone withdrawing from waitlist or considering other options?

I'm considering visiting Haas on the next weeks.. Is there a "Days @ Haas" for Round 2 (and Round 1 accepted after Waitlist)? Because if I visit Haas now I don't think it will be feasible to visit again at Days@Haas (I live in Brazil, it is a expensive flight to SFO)

Jnmba2014, i have a lopsided verbal/quant GMAT score and am currently enrolled in UCLA online extension's "Intro to calculus'.

I considered Berkeley's but UCLA was a bit cheaper. Overall I'm liking the class

There is a "Days @ Haas 2" that is usually near the end of April (I think this year it's the 24th/25th/26th)
