Dear
GMATGuruNYWhile I choose OA: D as it conscience and direct, I have a question.
The official explanation from Manhattan: The original sentence lacks parallel structure. “Beaches that are expansive” disrupts the adjective-noun pattern of “High temperatures” and “active volcanoes.” Furthermore, the phrase “beaches that are expansive” is wordy and a more concise form “expansive beaches” is preferred.
Can I cancel A based on parallelism problem only? Is not
temperatures,
beaches and
volcanoes are all nouns but modified differently?
temperatures and volcanoes are in form of adjective modifier while
beaches is in form of relative clause modifier , is it justifiable to delete OA based on parallelism issue only here? Must all noun modified either by adjectives only or relative clauses only?
