When using successive percentage changes on 2 variables (which are multiplied), we can use the below equation.

Overall % Change = a + b + \(\frac{ab}{100}\), where a and b are the percentage changes.

Please Note: Percentages that indicate or cause a decrease should be taken as negative (loss%, discount %)

Here a = 10 and b = 10

Therefore Overall % change in Area = 10 + 10 + \(\frac{(10 * 10)}{100}\)= 20 + 1 = 21%
