$$\frac{10}{y}=\frac{\sqrt{x}}{y}$$
this will give us x
sufficient

(2) y = 40 and n = 1/4
sufficient

This is mod function there are two values+100 &-100 for X should the answer be E

This is an OG question and the official answer is D. x cannot be negative because it's under the square root. Even roots, such as the square root, is NOT defined for negative numbers on the GMAT.

Rebirth : we would be squaring 10 and square of a number is always positive. So answer is 100 in both cases.
