(A) x/3
(B) x/6
(C) 2x/3
(D) 3x
(E) 6x

x = 3(2y - x)

rearranging,

x = 6y - 3x

x+3x = 6y

6y = 4x

y = 2x/3

ANswer: option C

(A) x/3
(B) x/6
(C) 2x/3
(D) 3x
(E) 6x

substitution...
let x = 3..
\(x = 3(2y - x)........ 3 = 3(2y - 3)........... 1=2y-3........2y=4........y=2\)

test choices...
ONLY 2x/3 gives 2 as answer
\(\frac{2x}{3}=\frac{2*3}{3}=2\)

\(x = 6y - 3x\)

Or, \(4x = 6y\)

So, \(2x = 3y\)

Thus, \(y = \frac{2x}{3}\), hence answer will be (C)

X = 3(2Y - X)
X = 6Y - 3X
4X = 6Y

Hence, Y = (4/6)X = (2/3)X
Option C is the answer.
