What is the source of the question?

E looks wordy and awkward hence should be out and A is correct answer.

In Greece the average consumption of sheep and goat meat is four times that of the European one and according to 2004 data, 86% of the market is covered by local production, the remaining is covered with imports of meat and livestock from neighbouring Romania and Bulgaria, or frozen meat from New Zealand and other countries.

ERROR ANALYSIS -

2 independent clauses must be separated by a conjunction

ANSWER CHOICE ANALYSIS -

A) 2 independent clauses must be separated by a conjunction
B) Absence of verb in 1st clause
C) 2 independent clauses must be separated by a conjunction, use of 'being' is also incorrect
D) Past perfect can't be used because before 'and' in the non underlined portion simple past is used
E) CORRECT
