Hi Amrith,

Thanks for posting this information. What I recommend you do is connect with peers, mentors, and teachers to find out more about opportunities in various business careers. As an example, you can speak with someone who has experience working in investment banking, one in advertising, and one in consulting.

The reason for this is that some MBA programs tend to focus more on certain subjects. It would be shame if you pursued a degree in finance at NYU, only to realize that you did not enjoy working in finance. The more information and data points you can gather the better.

Of course, this does not mean that you need to know exactly what you want to pursue post-graduation. However, the more you can identify things that you do and do not enjoy, the better your final business school decision will be.
